Piano Removal in Edmonton

Nobody wants to carry a piano. We do it every week - up the basement stairs, around the landing, out the door and onto the truck - without marking your walls or your floors.

Piano removal and disposal in Edmonton and area

An upright piano weighs as much as a fridge and a half and all of it sits on four small casters, so it is not a two-person job and it is not a job for a hand truck across the lawn. We bring a crew sized for the piano, a piano dolly and straps, and we protect the door frames and the stairs on the way out. Uprights, consoles, spinets, electric organs - and grands, which come apart (legs, lyre and lid) before they move.

Most pianos that come to us have not held a tune in years and have no resale value, which is why they are still in the house. If yours still plays, say so in the photos - a working piano can sometimes go to a charity or a school instead of the landfill, and we will tell you honestly which it is.

Send two or three photos: the piano, the stairs or hallway it has to come through, and the door to the outside. That is enough for a price.

Before we arrive

  • Clear the route - rugs up, furniture out of the hallway, nothing on the stairs.
  • Tell us about the stairs: how many, any turns, and whether there is a landing. It decides how many of us come.
  • Take anything off the top and out of the bench before we arrive.

A price before we start. Confirmed on site. No surprise disposal fees.

How it works

  1. Send us photos, or call

A few pictures tell us almost everything. No appointment needed just to get a price.

  2. We quote you up front

You get a price range from the photos, confirmed on site before we lift anything.

  3. We load it and haul it away!

We do the carrying, down the stairs and out of the yard, and leave the space tidy.

Piano Removal pricing

Send a few pictures and we price it from the photos - or call and we’ll talk it through. Junk removal is priced by how much room the load takes up in the truck, so photos are all we need to give you a number.

Common questions

Can you get a piano out of a basement?

Yes. Basement uprights are the most common piano job we do. Send a photo of the stairs with the piano photos and we will size the crew for it.

Do you move pianos to another house, or only remove them?

Both. If the piano is going to a family member or a buyer across town, that is a small move - send the two addresses with the photos and we will price it as one.

What happens to the piano?

If it still plays and someone will take it, we try to place it. Otherwise it is broken down - the cast iron plate and strings go to metal recycling, the wood case is disposed of.

How much does piano removal cost in Edmonton?

It depends on the piano and the route out - a ground-floor upright is a different job from a grand in a basement. Send a few photos and we will get right back to you with a price, confirmed on site before we start.
